RTC CARTRIDGE - PART 2

Last blog entry https://exxosnews.blogspot.co.uk/2017/07/rtc-cartridge-in-making.html

Prototype cartridge PCB arrived.  This uses my little RTC kit which solders onto the larger cartridge PCB.

I added on the cartridge connector on the left side of the PCB.  I need to try this out, but finding connectors is hard going. So I will re-use one from a scrap motherboard to try another time.

Not much to really say. It works and shows the time on desktop with a ACC.

I may look into creating some 3D printed cases for this. Though I am not sure when I will have time to study the 3D software.  So if anyone wants to design some STL files for this project for me, then please let me know :)

  1. Pretty cool. I'm guessing the pins on the left side will be for a pass thru in the future?

    1. Yes :) Finding the connectors is near impossible these days though :(

  2. I like it Chris, certainly another option for those folks who are worried about installing it internally.

    1. Yes. Nothing like having hardware sticking out all over the place :)
